Kanchi College of Education, Kanchipuram: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

As an affiliated college, Kanchi College of Education was founded in 2008 in Kanchipuram of Tamil Nadu. This co-educational institution is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and the college focuses particularly in the provision of teachers. Located in a small plot of 6.64 acres, the college provides a single degree course with a total intake capacity of 200 students and 15 member faculty. The B.Ed stands for Bachelor of Education and the institute offers it to prepare teachers for a modern teaching practice.

 Kanchi College of Education has different facilities that will improve the student learning and development. It also has a reading room cum reference section where readers can refer a number of educational journals/newspapers and other related books and it has more than 4,000 books among which are text books, encyclopedia and educational software etc. For practical training, Physical Science and Biological Science test laboratories, a psychology laboratory, as well as educational technology laboratories. The media centre with the computer-aided laboratory facilities and the qualified teacher of computer sciences is also provided at the campus. From the spacious playgrounds for different games, a student is able to master different sports like football, basketball and volley ball, indoor games. Student welfare is also a consideration through provision of accommodation for boys and girls separately, a health centre with first aid facilities and a gym for body build up.

Kanchi College of Education offers a single course, the two year full time course of Bachelor of Education. The intake capacity of this programme is 100 students per year and therefore the college considers its intake capacity to uphold a standardised number of students to maintain a quality education. The B.Ed course offers professional preparation for teaching at all levels and in all areas of specialisation.

Admission to Kanchi College of Education is through counselling based on the marks secured in the qualifying examination and/or entrance test. The college holds admission norm as standardised by the state government, the Union Territory administration, and the university to which it is affiliated. The seriousness of the college is seen inoffering education is further compounded by variety of facilities that include well equipped classrooms, a well stocked library and laboratory for specialisations.
