Kanpur Institute of Technical Education, Founded in the year 2004, is a part of the industrial hub city Kanpur in the state of Uttar Pradesh. It sprawls over an expansive area of 25 acres, and KITE conducts full courses of the Diploma programmes related to several engineering disciplines. Being an affiliated college approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, with 1,196 enrolled students and a faculty strength of 31.

The Kanpur Institute of Technical Education has developed one of the most impressive arrays of facilities designed to enhance the learning experience of students. The campus houses neat and well maintained boys and girls hostels under the watchful eye of a warden each, to provide an atmosphere that is both hospitable and safe. To provide the best support for learning in ultra-modern classrooms, KITE's classrooms are air-conditioned, fitted with modern teaching aids such as LCD projectors. KITE's library is a powerhouse of knowledge, consisting of over 55,865 volumes and 4,518 titles, and offering a treasure trove of digital resources. There are also 16 centrally air-conditioned laboratories that can accommodate 600 students, with state-of-the-art equipment and software used for practical training.

The institute currently offers five specialised diploma courses-Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Automobile Engineering, and Mechanical Production Engineering. These courses are designed to adequately prepare students with theoretical knowledge as well as practical skills. 

Admission to Kanpur Institute of Technical Education can be through any academic course in subjects considered relevant to the course. The entrance tests or interviews can also form a part of the selection process.
