Kharagpur Vision Academy was established in the year 2016 in the state of Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal. The college includes this co-educational institute that imparts education, especially in the segment of teacher education to be recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). It is set in a compact campus area of 0.999 acres and offers intake of two different full-time courses to a combined student enrolment of 328. It has a faculty of 16 members, which makes the student-to-teaching strength ratio modest. Currently, Kharagpur Vision Academy is offering two full-time courses: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). Both programs are set for a two-year duration, therefore making students well prepared for teaching at different levels of education. The approved intake is a total of 200 students for any one academic year. These courses would prepare students for teaching in schools by developing their pedagogical skills and knowledge of subjects alongside practical experience.

The criterion for admission to the Kharagpur Vision Academy is strictly merit, which should be duly judged on the basis of marks obtained at the qualifying examination or entrance examination. A candidate should have passed a bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognised university at the time of admission. The D.El.Ed. program generally makes it compulsory that candidates have completed their 10+2 or equivalent examination.
