KLE Society’s BV Bellad Law College, established in the year 1975, is a leading law college in the context of North Karnataka specially located in Belagavi,Karnataka. This co-educational college is recognised by the Karnataka State Law University and it possesses the NAAC accreditation besides the approval of BCI. Based in a 25 acre compound, the college provides a favourable environment for the provision of legal education. The total number of students enrolled at the institution is 447 and faculty members 10, which makes the institution to provide special attention to all students and offer quality education. The college offers 4 law programmes, a three-year LLB course and a five and half year integrated BA LLB programme to meet the various achievements that one could hope to achieve in the stream.

BV Bellad Law College possesses numerous facilities which improve the college and personal development of a student. The library, also known as the temple of knowledge, possesses over 11025 books, 2110 bound volume of journals/reporters and thirty one current journals and eleven newspapers. To facilitate the actual practice, the college lays down moot court and mock trial competitions which act as inter-class competitions. They have a computer lab for Internet and print services with Internet connectivity on the campus and in the hostel facility as well. This is provided by well outfitted playing fields, a 400-meter cinder track, courts for varying games, and 25 meters by 12.5 meters swimming pool with professional trainers.

KV Bellad Law College of KLE Society is having two years full time law courses with a total intake of 180 students. The normal 3-year LLB programme has a total of 120 students and the five-year integrated BA LLB course admission takes 60 students every year. Both courses are academic, and their purpose is to give the students sound knowledge of the law and its practical application. This is reflected in the manner that the college trains and produces competent and well rounded legal persons in he institution.

Being a government aided college, admission to BV Bellad Law College, KLE Society is strictly on merit basis to give chance to the most deserving candidates. To join the LLB programme, admission without an option for the candidate is offered based on merit of the course done earlier accompanied by the qualifying exam. The merit as calculated from the total marks obtained marks in the qualifying examination forms the basis of the admission procedure in the BA LLB integrated programme too. Before proceeding further let me emphasise that the college follows the reservation policy of Government of Karnataka as applicable to admission to any higher educational institutions. This policy is used for the purpose of increasing student diversity and practicing non-discrimination. The college also have accommodation facilities for boys and girls separately, there are vacancies for 25 boys and 20 girls and there privileges given to students from outside with excellent performance.
