KMCT College of Teacher Education for Women was established in 2005 and is progressing quickly in the city of Kozhikode, Kerala. This college for boy and girls, which is under the Calicut University, aims at producing qualified educators in the future. Spread across a 3-acre campus, the college offers two specialized courses in education: Bachelors in Education Programme (B.ED) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EL.ED). The KMCT College of Teacher Education for Women has had develop a variety of facilities that are intended to complement the learning of the students. Library is one of the significant composing parts of academic resources; It contains 5500 books, 6 encyclopedias, 5 different periodicals to help in various kinds of education. For practical training the institution has a number of specialised laboratory; computer lab, Psychological lab, Natural Science Lab, Physical Science Lab, Language Lab, Technological Lab and Social Science Lab. KMCT College of Teacher Education offers two full-time courses: a Two years B.Ed course with intakes of 100 students and Two years Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) course with 50 students’. These programmes are intended to provide what students need to become effective teachers in classrooms. The college’s total approved intake which has remained a policy of the college is 150 students across the two courses as a measure of ensuring quality education associated with limited numbers per class.

The entrance test into KMCT College of Teacher Education requires the candidate to have scores in the qualifying examination and/ or the entrance examination to qualify for admission. College admitted students as per the norms and regulation framed by the state government of kerala and the University of Calicut offer five years integrated course both in Malayalam and English medium for the students. For the B.Ed programme, candidates should be a bachelor’s degree holder or equivalent in the stream of required subject. Generally the D.El.Ed programme takes a higher secondary (10+2) qualification as the basis of admission.
