KMEA College of Architecture, Aluva: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

KMEA College of Architecture started its journey in the year 2013 at Aluva, Kerala, India and is as of now one of the main institutions providing architectural education in the region. This affiliated college is situated in Kuzhivelippady, Edathala ; the course offered by the college is approved by the Council of Architecture to produce quality architects. KMEA College of Architecture is located in a 2 acres of land and the institute has approved 5-year full time B.Arch course with an intake of 80 students per year. It has a self-styled multi ethnic population of 397 enrolments, 39 members of teaching-learning, and a favourable student-faculty ratio.

The development of many facilities for learning is the main aim of KMEA College of Architecture for giving all-round education to all its students. Students are provided with a resident library consisting of over 1,000 titles and 1,200 volumes and access to thirteen Indian and four international journals. It also provides Internet browsing facilities to encourage application of internet in search of resources. An addition to technological knowledge, the college has a fully equipped, state of the art computerised laboratory with about forty computer sets, fitted with state of the art designing software like AutoCAD, Revit and Photoshop among others. Lecture halls and practical rooms have 1.6 sq.m of effective area per student allowing comfortable lighting and equipped with modern audio-visual facilities.

At the moment, KMEA College of Architecture has only one course: Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) course. This programme is a full time, five year academic programme intended to cultivate talent and produce master architects. This programme has an approved capacity for admitting 80 students each year, making it easy for anyone who wants to be an architect to get admission. The course offered for B.Arch by KMEA – which includes a wealth of theory as well as practical sessions – ensures that the students become successful architects.

The admission policy of KMEA College of Architecture enrolls students after giving merit basis admissions while following regular procedure for the architectural colleges education in India. For admission, the students have to clear the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA)or the architecture paper of JEE(Main). These are school based examinations since there are national examinations that test the ability of candidates to study architecture. The college also has any specially designed aptitude test in Architecture that is conducted by any competent authority of the Central or the state Government.

Successful learning environment was cultivated in KMEA College of Architecture for budding architects. The institution has separate hostel provisions for boys as well as for girls this makes it easy for out station students to have comfortable accommodation. There is a department on School’s compound that houses a health center with first aid facilities for students’ health emergencies. It also has concern with the health facility the college include sports facilities for all college going students. Unavoidably, for transport purpose, the institution is provided with bus facilities with a wide network all round the city. Communication throughout the campus through Wi-Fi technology ensures that students are connected and that learning and research is more enhanced.
