Kolaghat Government Polytechnic, established in 2014, is an affiliated college located in Kolaghat, West Bengal. This technical institution was approved by AICTE and hence offers a diploma course in electrical engineering disciplines. This polytechnic has an enrolment of 318 students, with a faculty strength of 14, thus, it provides a very concentrated learning environment. 

The polytechnic has various facilities that assist in making proper growth of the students both in their academic and personal spheres. Well-equipped laboratories, catering to the departmental needs, are available on the campus where the students get a feel of the practical work in addition to theoretical knowledge. Kolaghat Government Polytechnic offers a focused curriculum with a total of three diploma programs. Each course has been sanctioned to have an intake of 60. In Kolaghat Government Polytechnic, the basis of admission to various courses is generally the results of the Joint Entrance Examination for Polytechnics West Bengal (JEXPO), conducted by the West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development. This entrance examination makes the process of admission to some extent open and competitive. The next step of admission to the second year of diploma courses for aspiring candidates is through the Vocational Lateral Entry Test, VOCLET, conducted by WBSCT/VE/SD. These entrance exams are usually held every year.
