KR Academy, Dewas: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

KR Academy is a co-education affiliated college located at Dewas (M.P.) and it came into existence in the academic year 2017-18. Located on a total land area of 0.4966 acres, this relatively young university has a dream to transform the field of education. The academy is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE); this shows the commitment of the academy to quality teacher education. At present, it has 84 students’ intake capacity in total and 16 faculties, which make KR Academy an institute with a focused student-faculty ratio. The institute at the present time provides only one programme for the degree, and that is in the field of teacher education, proving commitment to producing teachers.

Faculty and students of the KR Academy are provided with the necessary modern facilities to create a comfortable learning atmosphere for students. The college is well furnished and among the necessities, the college has a well-stocked library to support students’ educational needs. That is why there are departmental labs where students can apply knowledge into practice. The academy also aims at providing health care for one's body and soul with the provision of sporting facilities and a gym for the students. An auditorium helps in conducting events and seminars and fosters a good and healthy culture among the students a university needs. 

The college cafeteria is a functional area where students and staff go to acquire food and also as a place of informal congregation. Measures for health and safety are observed with a health centre that has first aid amenities. For the visiting faculty and the members of the family, there are lavish guest house amenities for giving comfort to the people. It also boasts a well-developed IT standard to prepare students for the modern world. Comfortable classrooms also supplement the learning environment and give more than adequate facilities for learning.

KR Academy currently offers one full-time course: the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme. This course of study is for two years and the approved cohort size is one hundred students, showing the institute’s commitment to quality education of teachers. Though at the moment the academy offers only this single course, this shows that its focus is well directed in offering quality service in its area of specialisation. The B.Ed. programme will produce students who will be well equipped to practice teaching in current societies and institutions.

The admission standards at KR Academy require the candidate to be merit-based across the platforms established in line with state government policy as well as the university. The candidate must have qualified from the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination and therefore students will be selected based on their performance in such tests. This method enables the right candidate to be offered a chance to do his/her B.Ed. at the academy.
