This has been demonstrated through availability of special amenities within the institute with an aim of improving the learning process of the learners. Equipped library is highly important as it acts as information centre where the students get necessary medical literature and research. Labs in the college are designed to suffice the needs of the paramedical college and include the practical training centre. For the students with disability, KVM Institute of Paramedical Sciences offers both boys and girls hostels in order to ensure that the students get the best place to live in. There is also an audition room for event and seminars purposes which makes the campus an active academic place. Besides other facilities, it owns a health centre with first aid facilities for students and priorities student health. They noted that the IT infrastructure helps learning policies of modern types and gets students ready for practising in the technically advanced sphere of the healthcare.
KVM Institute of Paramedical Sciences currently only offers two types of full length programs, for different levels of schooling in medical lab assistant technology respectively. The B.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology is a course that takes four years while the Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology is a two years program. Each program is aimed at providing students with necessary knowledge and skills for starting a career in medical laboratory services. The B.Sc program has an addition capacity of 30 students per year in the institute which maintains class size and quality.
The guidelines followed when admitting students at KVM Institute of Paramedical Sciences is also designed in a way that ensures that all students admitted are as diverse as possible. For the B.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology allotted by the Government of Kerala through the LBS(Lal Bahadur Shastri ) 50% of seat. The remaining fifty percent is for management quota and 15 percent for the NRI management quota category. This balance therefore intends to give room for merit as well as management intakes in the course. The set procedures for selection operates in conformity with the standards of the Kerala University of Health Science and Kerala Paramedical Council which ensures that students to be admitted meet the stipulated academic standard.
For admission to Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology, there is equal division of seats: DME, Government of Kerala prepares a state merit list for entrance for which 50% of the seats are to be filled. The other fifty percent IonicModule is taken by the management quota. This program’s selection criteria are as per the norms set by the DME and Kerala Paramedical Council. This kind of admission policies reveal that the institute is keen to uphold the quality of education it offers and at the same time offer a variety of opportunities that may be available to the Paramedical professionals.
