Lady Keane College, the college of higher learning was started in 1935 in Shillong, Meghalaya. It is an affiliated college spread over a 8.059 acre large campus. Lady Keane College was established almost nine years ago it has been producing great minds and shaping young futures through the various programs offered in the college.The college states having a spirituous populace of 1,457 students and all of them are ladies, and such vibrant environment fosters learning. The University has 70 dedicated professionals as its faculties and it provides good student faculty ratio to focus on every student of the University. Lady Keane College is a rich institution with 28 programmes in six degree categories to meet the interest and needs of its students in different fields of endeavour.

The college library started along with the college in 1935 where knowledge resources including books, journals, and online data are available. It uses an Integrated Library Management Software (ILMS) for easy retrieval and management of the archives. Undergraduate courses in Lady Keane College include arts, science and business, tourism and hospitality management. The BA academic specialisations comprise of English, Khasi, Bengali, Economics, Education, History, Philosophy, Political Science, and Sociology. Under the science stream, the college has Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) courses in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biochemistry, Botany and Zoology. Also, it has enlarged the programmes, like the professional courses Bachelor of Computer Applications ( BCA) and Bachelor of Tourism and Travel Management (BTTM) to fit the demand of the current employment.

Applicants to the college should possess a 10+2 qualification from a recognised central or a state board.
