LGB Girls College an affiliated college situated at Tezpur, Sonitpur district of Assam was established in 1979. This is women’s education institution that has been established for more than forty years to ensure that young women in the region receive quality education. Located at Mission Chariali, the college has a counrpt/setup that is easily accessible and provides and optimal environment that is suitable for learning and character transformation. The college has diverse facilities which enable it to support the education of its students. 

LGB Girls College includes a good library with ample reading halls for teachers as well as the students. With a seating capacity of 1200 persons it houses more than 12000 books along with number of journals and magazines available for lend; there is a book bank service and reprographic service at a nominal charge. There is a clean and well-organized college canteen for those who would like to have some snacks or to relax and where students, teachers and/or other staff members can eat almost anything. A sportsman will also be thrilled at the number of sports facilities available in a college empowering different sports interests. Currently, LGB Girls College has 9 programmes, all of which are aimed at the Arts. The college currently has a total student intake intake capacity of 915 and presently has the same number. The institution provides four main courses: a general BA programme with 300 intakes, and three specialised BA programme intakes –Assamese Major 20, English Major 20, and Political Science Major 20. These programmes are intended to ensure that students are equipped with the needed humanities and social sciences background for various courses or careers or further education.
