Lingayas Institute of Management and Technology, Vijayawada was established in the year of 1988 by “The Lingayas University Society” in the memory of great freedom fighter Late Shree Gadde Lingaya. The main objective and mission of the LIMAT, Vijayawada is to facilitate and promote studies, research, and extension of the focus on professional education in the emerging areas of higher education in the disciplines of Management, Engineering Technology, Computer Applications, and various other programs. The college is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada.

Lingayas Institute of Management and Technology, Vijayawada offers courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The LIMAT Vijayawada courses include B.Tech, M.Tech and MBA. All the courses are available in various specialisations. The LIMAT Vijayawada admission is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam which includes AP EAPCET, AP ICET, AP PGECET and candidates performance in the past academic qualification. 

The Lingayas Institute of Management and Technology, Vijayawada has its own placement cell and it acts as a bridge between the students and companies. The LIMAT facilities provided to students on the campus are a hostel for boys and girls, a well-equipped library, gym, IT Infrastructure, medical/ hospital facilities and many others.
