Lord Jegannath College of Engineering and Technology, Kanyakumari: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

LJCET it was started in the year 2006 and is located in Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu The college is famous and one of the most sought after engineering colleges in the region. This affiliated college recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) provides more than one type of engineering and management. LJCET occupies a campus of 16.7 acre and has total intake capacity of 438 students and employs 141 faculty members. The college offers this number of courses in 5 degrees offered at the institution with special emphasis on Mechanical engineering, computer and software engineering and engineering in agriculture.

Many facilities available at LJCET can be considered to provide the full range of learning to its students. The college has ample number of stocked laboratories for the students majoring in Physics, Chemistry, and Communication English lab fitted with sophisticated software. The Centre of Excellence is a Reference Centre with stocked books, journals and digital resources from various publishers. 

The students can use a modern means of digital library, journal section as well as reprography. The campus has a wireless network so the students and faculty can easily connect to the internet in class, libraries, theaters and hostels. For the accommodation of the students who seek the same LJCET offer hostels for both boys and girls.

The institute provides numerous programs for students in order to accommodate everyone’s needs and wants. LJCET academic offerings cover 15 courses in the form of full time undergraduate and postgraduate. Currently, it provides Bachelor of Engineering (BE) programmes that include Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering as well as Aeronautical Engineering the latter being offered by only a handful institutions in the country. 

Consequently at the master’s level, KU offers Master of Engineering (ME) in Manufacturing Engineering, Applied Electronics, and Computer Science and Engineering. The college also provides an MBA and MCA courses for the students who are interested in managerial and computer applications disciplines. With overall sanctioned intake of 438 students spread across all the courses, LJCET guarantees an industry specific educational experience.

LJCET has a well structured, elaborate and merit based admission process for its programs. The college admits undergraduate engineering programs on the basis of scores obtained at the TNEA counselling session. ME, MBA and MCA courses admissions at post graduate level requires TANCET scores conducted by the university. The college also accepts the Common Engineering Entrance Test and Admission (CEETA-PG) for some of the post graduate programmes. Different types of scholarship provisions exist at LJCET however details about these scholarships are not available. 

The college takes pride in alumni relations, through which current students can easily get a touch with the industry players and possibly understand on how best to approach their future occupational endeavors.
