MITS Ujjain: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Mahakal Institute of Technology and Science (MITS Ujjain) is an affiliated college, established in 2006 at Ujjain in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Located at Dewas Road, the Air Strip behind it, the institute occupies a 10.97 acre area. MITS Ujjain has a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme, which fulfils the need of the students who wants to get more education in the field of computer science. The building up of the institute’s student strength is in all 86 and with its faculty consists of 5 members and the institute offers a fair concentrated ambience. It achieves this in the recognised full-time study mode and a two year course duration of the MCA programme.

Mahakal Institute of Technology and Science Ujjain houses several facilities that cater to the needs of the students and help in their focused learning process. The institute has the arrangements of the hostel both for boys and girls as per their individual preferences. Boys hostel is on the campus, accommodates more than 250 students, single beds, and single, double rooms that are well furnished. It include an in-house canteen, messing hall, water dispensers, recreational area with games and boards, Gymnasium etc. Information regarding the girls’ hostel facility is however provided on request provided outside the compound. For health and wellness, the institute has a medical room with a medical doctor, and a nurse, and a dispensary for emergencies. This school has also been provided with modern gym where the students can be able to practice on to remain fit physically.

There is only one postgraduate course in the institute, which is Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and it is a full time programme. However, the number of seats for this particular course has not been laid down though the capacity of the intakes for this institute is 86. This implies that Sedgwick is more focused school with a very low student to faculty ratio that can be able to take care of more students. They have further enhanced their curriculum and include a MCA programme in MITS Ujjain to equip students deploying modern knowledge and skills in Computers Applications in the technology changing world. Unfortunately there is no clear information about the admission procedure of MITS Ujjain offering MCA programme. Still I believe that as is the case with most MCA programmes, then there is probably standardisation of admission through academic performance in specific undergraduate courses and probably examinations. 

To ensure the students have a one-stop centre for all academic and personal development needs, MITS Ujjain has many facilities that can be used in the students’ learning process. It has a well-equipped library with more than thirty thousand books and text on engineering disciplines. The library has bar code facilities and is a computerised library that subscribes to over 50 national and international journals and 25 magazines. Firstly, readers have an opportunity to borrow books, CDs, journals and magazines; second, top performers in each branch of the company will be given extra library privileges. The coverage of the campus is well provided with Wi-Fi, thus students can use Internet facilities for study purposes.

Flat facilities for outdoor games like volley ball, foot ball, cricket, basket ball, and even a ground for kabaddi also indoor games like chess, table tennis and badminton – are available. The institute also takes active part in inter-collegiate, inter-zone and inter university tournaments In order to promote the competitive spirit among the students. It also provides the students with spacious Cafeteria, with a seating capacity of 500 students with a variety of dish with reasonable prices. For academic and cultural related events MITS Ujjain has auditorium facility with a sitting capacity of 500 peoples for guest lectures, seminars, cultural programmes organised by the students. Over 55 buses are available to provide easy transportation facilities in and around Ujjain and Dewas and also a shuttle service for the hostel students.

Last but not the least; In according to the researched findings, it is clear that Mahakal Institute of Technology and Science, Ujjain is characterised in the provision of a resultantly featured MCA programme in a dedicated premises, equipped with apt facilities. Established as institute with extensive facilities in academics as well as recreational amenities it strive to remain relevant and serve needed purpose of equipping its students to be relevant in the society through successful computer application careers.
