The Mahamaya Government Polytechnic of Information Technology, Gorakhpur, was established in the year 2008 and is a technical institute situated in Hariharpur, Khajani, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. This is a government college of polytechnic located at Belgaum spread over 5. 29 acres of land and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The institute provides three diploma courses in emerging areas of technology for the total student enrolment of one eighty. At present, the institute has a team of 13 faculty members who are fully committed in their respective fields to provide quality education to the students in a conducive environment, as the institute provides a student-faculty ratio that is comparatively small. 

It is equipped with several newly-acquired facilities, which would serve as a centre for learning and for the overall development of the students. The well-stocked library could in fact act as a centre for acquisition of knowledge as well as resource acquisition for the students. Sophisticated laboratories meeting specific demands of each department are important in practical endeavours that are characteristic of technical studies. Well-equipped IT facilities : The college has appropriate technological amenities to assist the students to continue updated in the technological change. 

In order to meet the students’ needs, the campus also offers a cafeteria and acts as a communication hub. Facilities for basic amenities are provided with a medical centre in which first aid amenities are available. The institute has also deputed separate hostel facilities for both boys and girls out-station students to carry their studies in better environment. 

The Mahamaya Government Polytechnic of Information Technology offers three programmes: full-time diplomas and the duration is of three years. Some of them are Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering, diplomas in Information technology, and diplomas in Electronics Engineering. According to the instituted capacities, each course has an approval of an intake of sixty-six students and, thus, 180 in all programmes. These well-planned programmes also have the goal of ensuring students masters skills and sound knowledge sufficient to operate in modern technology-enhanced world.
