Developed in the year 2008, Mahamaya Institute of Medical and Technical Science, Nuapada (MIMTS) is one of the respectable educational institution. This affiliated college is situated in Nuapada, Odisha and is spread over an area of 9.97 acres of Land. The college is accredited by All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE) to provide standard education in technical discipline. The institute has offered three diploma programmes in engineering disciplines, overall strength of the student intake of the institute being 612 and faculty of 32. MIMTS aims at producing professional engineers by combining theoretical knowledge with skills to enable its student secure job positions in the engineering industry.

Mahamaya Institute of Medical and Technical Science has a variety of teaching facilities to enhance students’ overall learning process and development. The university library is stocked with different academic books, journals, magazines and online material of science, engineering, technology, humanities, and management sciences. To facilitate skills-acquisition, MIMTs has designated teaching department/programme-specific teaching laboratories where theory is practiced. The beautiful and well equipped campus consists, among other things, of boys’ and girls’ hostels for students. There are indoor and outdoor games facilities for people interested in sports activities in order to balance between academics and sport. The institute also has great IT standards and a proper provision of technology that is used in various classes by the students.

 MIMTS provides three full-time diploma programmes in engineering each spanning three academic years. The courses as offered are Diploma in Civil Engineering, Diploma in Electrical Engineering, and Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. The total approved intake for these programme is 210 and the maximum students that can be offered these programmes are, Civil engineering - 90 Mechanical and electrical engineering - 60 each. These programmes are intended to equip students with knowledge and skills in fields of study of his/her choice in order to acquire entry level job in the industry or to pursue higher level of studies in engineering.
