Maharajah's College, Vizianagaram was one of the reputed institutions in Andhra Pradesh, India that inaugurated in the year 1879. The Co-ed College that is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council has taken up a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the recent scenario. It is situated on an area of 17.93 acres with a total enrolment strength of 3,555 students and a faculty of 127. Maharajah's College offers an all-rounded education in the field of Science, Commerce, and Arts, which provides 17 courses for 6 different degrees. The gender ratio is well balanced, comprising 62% males and 38% females at the undergraduate level.

The aim of the institute is to provide more facilities to the learners for enrichment. Big, well-equipped laboratories, a Central library housing more than 50,000 books, modern and ultra-modern classrooms, and separate hostel boys and girls' arrangements are provided where the boys' hostel accommodates 350 students and girl's hostel accommodates 150 students. The auditorium is air-conditioned and state-of-the-art, equipped with a cafeteria and health center providing first-aid facilities for events and seminars. For the sports lovers, sprawling playground facilities with amenities to play several indoor games such as volleyball, basketball, cricket, football, and many others will be provided. There would be arrangements for different indoor games along with a well-equipped gym on physical fitness of the students.

Maharajah's College offers various courses to cater to a large number of academic interests of the students. The college offers altogether 17 courses including undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Undergraduate courses encompass very popular courses like B.Sc. in Computer Science, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics, besides B.Com. and BBA. Among others, the postgraduate courses encompass M.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. The college basically focuses on full-time regular courses so that students may have in-depth knowledge about their fields of interest.
