Maharishi Dayanand College of Education, Abohar: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Maharishi Dayanand College of Education came into existence in 2005. Situated in Abohar, Punjab, India, it is one of the most popular institutions that focus on the training of teachers. This is a co-educational institution recognised by Panjab University and recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE. Located opposite BSF College on Hanumangarh Road, the college offers two professional programmes in education. An aggregate of 290 students are admitted each year to the institute, which has a teaching staff of 20 educators. This design proclaims the quality of education that is offered by the college through facilities that are in place as well as the variety of specialisation areas under teacher education.

Maharishi Dayanand College of Education offers two courses, both being full-time courses in teacher education. The B.Ed. programme has 100 seats and the D.El.Ed. programme has 50 seats. The admission policy of Maharishi Dayanand College of Education is and has been designed to follow a standard procedure, which includes merit-based selections. In the case of the B.Ed. programme admissions, 87% of the total seats are done through centralised counselling organised by the Federation of Self-Financed Colleges of Education, Punjab. The remaining 13% are done under the management quota that is also based on merit. 

Interestingly, 15% of seats are allocated to students from other states. Concerning the admission policy, for the purpose of joining the D.El.Ed. programme, the admission has been linked with the marks of a qualifying examination or an entrance test where such tests have been acknowledged by the state government or university norms.
