Mahatama Jagjeevan Sahab Mahavidyalaya, Amaniganj, was founded in 1860. This affiliated college, located at Ram Nagar, Amaniganj, Uttar Pradesh, has sustained its worth over more than 160 years of journey and provided quality education to its learners. It is also recognised by NCTE, proving its excellence in sustaining high educational standards. With the current enrolment of 337 students, and a faculty strength of 3, the institution provides a focused learning environment. This institution has two degree programmes: Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education, catering to varied interests in academics.

This college has quite a few facilities that would enhance the experience of students and academic pursuits. It has well-equipped departmental laboratories that offer hands-on learning to the students in their respective fields. Mahatama Jagjeevan Sahab Mahavidyalaya offers two full-time courses: a three-year Bachelor of Arts (BA) and a two-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.). The programmes offered by the institution work on developing a strong base in their respective fields for further academic pursuit or professional career. 

The admission process in Mahatama Jagjeevan Sahab Mahavidyalaya varies from programme to programme. In B.Ed, admissions are made on a merit basis, taking into account the marks obtained in the qualifying and/or entrance examination.
