Manabendra Sarma Girls' College, Rangia: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Established in the year 1984, Manabendra Sarma Girls' College, Rangia, is an affiliated college of Kamrup, Assam, with an aim to provide education for women. The cramped land of 1.97 acres in the college offers 14 courses across 2 degrees, of which maximum entrance levels go into the setting of the matrix of different specializations in the Bachelor of Arts degree. With a high rate of intake of students in education, which currently stands at 1,135, and a faculty of 24 staff, the college retains a very good student-teacher ratio. The different BA units, ranging from Economics, Education, Arabic, Assamese to Political Science, among others, are a demonstration of the institution's value for excellence in education. 

The college contains quite a number of facilities that are geared toward the enhancement of the learning process and the general development of learners themselves. The whole institution is apparently well complemented by a well-stocked library, regarded as the 'heart' of the college. It accommodates in open shelves a large number of textbooks, reference sources, and daily newspapers, all of which are classified according to the latest 23rd edition of the Dewey Decimal Classification system. Open access ensures free availability of resources to the teachers and students. 

For physical fitness and recreation, this college offers a gym and sports facilities. The campus also houses departmental laboratories that cater to the practical teaching requirements of various subjects. An auditorium has been set up for events and seminars, which are conducted with a live academic and cultural flavor. The college canteen adds an important feature for students and staff to relax and get together. Emphasis has been made where adequate IT infrastructure is in place so as to enable the students to equip themselves for the digital era. 

There are a total of 14 full-time courses under the Bachelor of Arts degree program at Manabendra Sarma Girls' College. These courses are combined and offered in the same degree with a purpose to give students a broader outlook in the discipline of humanities in general.
