About Mangalam School of Architecture and Planning, Kottayam

Mangalam School of Architecture and Planning is affiliated college founded in 2014 located at Kottayam, Kerala and known as Mangalam School of Architecture and Planning. This is a co-educational institution recognized by the Council of Architecture, which provides focus on the architectural education. MASAP is located on a large 45 acre piece of land and has a total admission capacity for 187 students and is staffed by nineteen committed personnel. The institute currently has only one degree programme, the Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch ), which shows that the institute only produces quality results in the area of architectural and planning education.

Mangalam School of Architecture and Planning has diverse amenities that supplements teaching and learning activities in the institution for the students. We have well fitted and facilitated classes for the students with over head projectors, computers and audiovisual systems, a large library with book stock of over one thousand volumes and a computer lab with 40/Arial systems fitted with architectural software. On practical teaching, the institute offers a number of workshops in carpentry, masonry, welding, plumbing, electrical work, as well as clay modeling corner. Students also enjoy practicing in laboratory facilities which are necessary for various directions as climatology or surveying. The campus provides separate hostels for boys and girls and the girls’ hostel is even on campus to ensure additional security for the learners.

The institute’s main programme is the five-year full-time B.Arch course for which the institute has an approved intake capacity of 80 students. They are aimed at presenting students with various architectural principles and practices needed in the practical world for an excellent start in the overall profession. The special offering of the course curriculum is backed by additional amenities of the institute such as the availability of dedicated skill-enhancement workshops, as well as exclusive laboratories.

The admission procedure in MASAP is largely carried out in relation to How-ever, the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA). Further, for B.Arch course the institute also considers the scores of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main).

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Arch: Bachelor of Architecture, MASAP provides a five-year full-time undergraduate program with a strong foundation in architecture principles and practices. Admission to B.Arch course is on the merit of NATA or JEE Main performance by the candidate. The institute provides approved intake of 60 candidates to this flagship program.

Eligibility for B.Arch

  • Passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board
  • Minimum aggregate marks of 50% and above in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
