Mathura Singh Teacher Training College, Chapra, Bihar, was started in the year 2010. It is an affiliated co-educational institution that specializes in teacher education. It offers two full-time courses in teacher education: B.Ed and D.El.Ed. The institution is spread over a compact campus of 1 acre in Chapra, Bihar. The institution got approval from the NCTE for its activities aimed at imparting quality education to the students in teaching. The college has a total student enrolment of 146 with a faculty strength of 33, thus maintaining a very decent student-teacher ratio for prospective teachers.

The institution has a number of facilities that help utilise the educational experience of the students. A well-stocked library acts as a knowledge hub, providing necessary resources for any academic pursuit. The institution has also got well-equipped modern laboratories, which are a necessary part of the practical learning processes in teacher education. The merit-based admission policy of Mathura Singh Teacher Training College is based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination.The college follows all policies of the state government of Bihar and the affiliated university pertaining to admission. In the case of the B.Ed. program, candidates are select based on their performance in the qualifying exam or through a selection process as per state government and university guidelines. The admissions to the D.El.Ed. course shall be on merit in the qualifying examination or entrance examination as per the policy of State Government or UT administration.
