Mayai Lambi College, Wangoi, established in the year 1981, is an institute for higher education in Manipur. Located in Yumnam Huidrom, Imphal-West, this affiliated college was established more than four decades back to transform young generation. The institution has been established across 15 acres campus and it provides 17 course under 4degree programmes wherein 2121 students are enroled. Having a total of sixty-four (64) qualified and dedicated faculty members, Mayai Lambi College guarantees favourable student faculty ratio that is ideal for learning. It is approved by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) which is particularly important in assuring quality education.

Mayai Lambi College has available several amenities that are intended to support the learning process in general. Core of any academic facility thus, remains a fully furnished and resourced library with textbooks, reference books, periodicals, journals and magazines. The library which received grants from University Grants Commission also updates the stock as often as possible for the newest books and publications. For students who have interest in sports and games, the college provided both indoor and outdoor sporting amenities. There is a plan to construct a swimming pool as well as an indoor stadium, which will take the development of sports facilities to next level. It is an energetic campus with internet over WiFi with internet speed of 4mbps to support student’s academic needs. In addition, the college consists of smart class rooms, laboratory for practicals, and hall for event such as seminars, etc.

Mayai Lambi College makes available 17 undergraduate courses in various fields giving comprehensive programmes. These are full-course programmes in which students can major in various areas, such as BA and B.Sc programmes. The college has 37 courses which have a total approved intake of 2, 121 students, which underpins the college’s impact in increasing access to higher learners in the region. Among these include B.Sc Chemistry Hons with 300 seats, B.Sc Botany Hons with 200 and BA Political Science Hons under the faculty of Arts and Social Sciences with 180 seats respectively and so on. The popularity of the courses gives the students an opportunity to follow whatever they have in interest, whether in humanities and sciences.

The institution also has a girls’ hostel within the compound has been developed through funding support from the University Grants Commission to assure that female students from different part of the region are provided with safe and quality accommodation.
