MCE Society's AKK New Law Academy and PhD Research Centre was established in the year 1994 at Pune. This premier institute set up in the heart of Pune, Maharashtra, is undoubtedly one of the most respected legal education centres. Simultaneously, this NAAC accredited institution adheres to the passion for quality legal education at its core. The sprawling campus measures 24 acres with a total student enrolment of 603 based on a faculty of 19 dedicated professionals.
The MCE Society's AKK New Law Academy and PhD Research Centre institute accommodates facilities that mirror the needs such as laying emphasis on the academic and personal needs of the students. It is called 'the lawyer's workshop'. The law library accommodates a wide number of legal resources in both print and electronic formats, and this is the intellectual core both for the students and faculty. The V.M. Gany Sports Pavilion serves the sports enthusiasts by providing facilities for the main outdoor games: football and basketball, in addition to volleyball and tennis courts as well as indoor games. IT infrastructure includes a well-equipped computer laboratory with 143 computers that are connected with high-speed internet to help students tap into the latest digital resources. A moot court hall made state-of-the-art provides firsthand experience about how a court hall would conduct its proceedings.
The MCE Society's AKK New Law Academy and PhD Research Centre conducts four full-time courses en suite connected with the field of law. They include three degree courses—LLB (3 years), BA LLB (5 years), LLM (2 years)—and one Diploma in Taxation Law (1 year). The aggregate approved intake of the institute stands at 360 across all its programmes and this is a reflection of its sincere commitment to the development of legal talent.

LLB is a professional degree of law catering to a legal profession. LLB courses can be pursued either for 3-year or 5-year by graduates and undergraduates respectively.
