MEASI College of Education, Chennai was started in the year 2006 is one of the reputed teacher training college situated in Chennai Tamil Nadu. This affiliated college recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education offers education in a small campus covering 0.53621 acres. All in all, though small, with the students intake of 200 students, and a faculty of 16 members, MEASI College of Education has a concentrated environment to produce good educators. At the moment, the institute has only one degree programme in its portfolio, which is the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) which shows the institute’s key focus on training teachers. The various facilities that MEASI College of Education has developed that allow a student to develop his/her learning capacity include the following. The 2 well organised library house is to support students with enough educational literature. For the purpose of enhancing pragmatic learning, the college was equipped with departmental laboratories where student practice what they are learning. Being aware of integrating information technology in teaching and learning processes, MEASI College of Education has facilities of IT to equip its students to face liberal world. It also contains various sports fields through which sport activities are carried out to improve on the health of the students, and their team building. The operation of helicopters and risk associated with accidents can be countered by first aid facilities in a medical center. The college canteen is a place in the college where students and the members of the staff can have a rest and eat some tasty food, the auditorium is used for different events and seminars. Moreover, in its physical plan, the college provides parking space for the use of faculty, staff and students.

MEASI College of Education offers only its B.Ed programme, which is a two-year, full time programme. Such an approach also creates an opportunity for the college to focus on crafting proficient educational professionals. Currently, B.Ed programme is having a sanctioned intake capacity of 100 students and opens only a limited number of choices for the interested teachers every year. This also allows for selective admission that helps in the achievement of a tight student faculty ratio that is helpful in class setting.

The norms of admitting students to MEASI College of Education are in compliance with Higher Education Department of the state government, UT administration, and the affiliated university. Student selection to the respective courses is on merit” depending on the marks scored in the qualifying examination and/ or entrance examination. It also may use other methods of employee selection according to the current trends as a college.
