Memari College, established in 1981, is a rural college located in Memari, Purba Burdwan, West Bengal. It sprawls over 10.61 acres of campus and offers a range of academic programs that fulfill the educational expectations of young learners within the surrounding localities. The college has a very vibrant learning environment, with 5,548 students enroled and 77 dedicated teachers.
The facilities available in the college are many and oriented towards enhancing the learning process. The central facility for academic resources is the central library with more than 21,500 books and 2,485 journals. The library is fully computerized with Koha software to facilitate access to its large collection of materials. The facilities available to the students include internet and CD library facilities and teaching aids like atlas, models, etc. Students who pursue science courses have well-equipped departmental laboratories. The course admissions are merit-based only. Regular B.A. seats are 720 and B.A. Morning seats are 879.
B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science): B.Sc. honours programmes in Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Nutrition, and Economics are offered by the college. Merit entry is also available in these programmes. Seats differ based on specializations as well, and there are 67 seats for Mathematics Honours.
B.Com. (Bachelor of Commerce): Memari College provides B.Com. courses such as B.Com. Accountancy Honors. Merit is the admission requirement for these courses. There are 281 general seats and 110 seats for B.Com. Accountancy Honors.
