Merchant Institute of Diploma Studies, Mehsana: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

One of the premier educational institutes, the Merchant Institute of Diploma Studies, Mehsana, was established in 2009. This affiliated college is situated at Piludara, Mehsana, Gujarat, and is offering diploma courses in engineering fields. The spacious 6-acre campus contains this growing institution, which has acted as a nodal centre for technical education in this part of the state. Presently, this institute has a total student strength of 853 and is supported by 22 faculty members. There are five different streams of Engineering-based diploma courses at MIDS, suiting varied tastes and career aspirations of students.

The institute prides itself on providing an all-round learning environment with state-of-the-art facilities. Apart from the well-equipped classrooms, the institution has well-furnished and suitably equipped laboratories open to students during college hours and beyond for experimentation and research work. It has a well-equipped computer centre with 60 networked computers, providing students with the most updated software for any engineering application. There is also a library that is very essential for academic pursuits, with a fast-growing collection serving diploma and undergraduate students alike. For students needing accommodation, MIDS provides separate hostel facilities for boys and girls to live comfortably away from home.

MIDS offers five full-time diploma courses; all of them have a span of three years. They are Diplomas in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering. These options will let the students choose a stream in which they are interested to go forward in their career in the engineering sector.

The admission process in MIDS is undertaken through a centralized Diploma admission committee appointed by the Government of Gujarat.The admission is solely based on the marks obtained in the Secondary School Certificate Examination. The institute also offers management quota seats.
