MIT WPU School of Media and Journalism, Pune is the constituent college of MIT-World Peace University and aims on crafting future Media professionals. This institution is situated in Pune, one of India’s most progressive cities in the state of Maharashtra and it offers educating courses in journalism and mass communication only. As for the year of establishment it is not determined but within several years the school began to act as one of the leading schools for the media education. The institute is situated at S. No. 124, Paud Road, Kothrud, Pune that can be considered as an ideal surroundings for those who wants to be a journalist and want to be a part of media. The institute has the necessary equipment and accessory for modern school – all these are intended to aid the learners in their educational process.

The MIT WPU School of Media and Journalism currently has only two full-time programmes which includes the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The programme offers the Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication aims at enrolling 60 students and takes three years while the Master’s degree programme in Journalism and Mass Communication targets enrolling 40 students and takes two years. It is to give students all rounded knowledge on different aspects of media and journalism for the challenging world in communication. The total student capacity provided for these two programmes is 100 proving that the school is serious in its provision of quality instructions by ensuring that classes are closely controlled to admit only the right number of students for maximum output in academics. 

As a result, the admission process of the MIT WPU School of Media and Journalism is geared towards admitting passion and talent. Prospective candidates interested in the BA undergraduate programme must write the UGPET and attend an interview. The same applies to postgraduate admission where the Master of Arts programme accepts the Common entrance Examination (PGPET) and an interview. The admission to the institute is based on merit and the institute follows the Government of Maharashtra norm of reservation. In this way, the school achieve a racially just and pluralistic enrollment.
