About MIT WPU School of Photography, Pune

MIT WPU School of Photography Pune is a constituent college of MIT World Peace University, Pune one of the most progressive cities of Maharashtra. This is a specialized institution in the training of talents in one of the fine arts, particularly photography. The year of foundation is not known, but the school was established relatively recently and immediately attracted attention with its unique vision of photographic learning. The institute offers a focused curriculum with two distinct programmes: Three year BA in Photography and one year Diploma in Photography are the main courses offered by the college. The nine strong faculty members of MIT WPU School of Photography create an environment in which every student gets individual care and attention and hence quality education.

MIT WPU School of Photography also has resources that are very important for any interesting photographer such as studios. Standing at the core of its operational hierarchy, is a very large Master Studio measuring 24ft x 60ft, well equipped to host several ostentatious setups all at once. This is accompanied by two other ‘Professional Studios’ both 16ft x 30ft containing current lighting equipment used in professional photography. The availability of technology shown by the fully air conditioned computer room with modern software for post processing works is traced in this school. The library offers National and international newspapers, magazines, and journals to which the library subscribes for students to use for research and creativity purposes.

MIT WPU School of Photography provides two extensive courses since they understand that the education required by the candidates and their goals vary. The BA Photography is a three years full-time course that aims at offering sound understanding about the discipline of photography. There show more choice for students to join through; the Part-time Photography course for two and half years and the Photography Diploma which is a one year full-time course. Both of these courses have an intake that has been approved for 40 students to afford students an opportunity to learn in small classes. The practical nature of the learning activities are also well illustrated through the manner in which the institute has organised its courses, as well as its sophisticated technical infrastructure.

Similarly, the admission processes applied at MIT WPU School of Photography are going to be both rigorous and selective yet faculty independent. All students interested in getting admission into the said programmes are needed to face the PI which is administered at the Institute in Pune. This interview alone determines 50% of the merit score with the other 50% valuing 10th or 12th standard marks. Institution also assures students from 10 or 12 standard to seek admission in institutes which may grant the provisional admission to the students also.
