Mitra School of Nursing was started in the year 2005 and is a self financing nursing college situated in Udupi, Karnataka. This is a co-educational nursing institution that is recognised by INC and it provides specialised nursing course in a campus of 76 acres in size. lt has a total enrolment of 73 students and the learning is improved through adequate faculty strength with 7 members. Mitra School of Nursing sits at only one degree programme in its attempt and that is to provide quality education in nursing.

The institute has countless amenities aimed at improving the students learning environment as well as their general health. In this case, the library as a center of knowledge provides all the necessary needed for the acquisition of nursing education. To support academic debates and meetings as well as events, there is an auditorium. With regard to physical health, the college has sports amenities for recreation, and also a cafeteria for covering the nutritional requirement of the college. In accordance with current educational demands, Mitra School of Nursing has Information Technology facilities. Technical competencies are developed in modern and specialised department laboratories. Mitra School of Nursing offers one full-time course, the General Nursing and Midwifery course. It has an approved intake of 30 students in its GNM programme, and it hence, retains a targeted approach to offering sound nursing education. This means that students are awarded specialised attention and also, allow all round, practical experiences suitable for the nursing profession.
