MLV Government Textile and Engineering College, Bhilwara, Rajasthan, India was founded in the year 1988 and is an autonomous college. Spread over a 41 acre area, this college is a government sponsored institution which has pioneered the textile and engineering education for the past 33 years. This institute is recognised by All India Council for Technical Education right from its affiliated courses and programme of study. With a total student enrolment capacity of 1,078 and faculty of 26, MLVTEC practices a wide array of engineering courses in respect to specialisation.
The MLV Government Textile and Engineering College possesses a wide range of sophisticated facilities intended for the promotion of learning activities among the students. The well-resourced Library comprises of over 18000 books many of which are worth over 6400 titles, the textbooks and reference books are by various authors. It also has an RFID facility, a Computer section for accessing e-content into the school system. The campus also includes different hostels for both boys and girls for 75 students each with a nominal charge for outstation students to stay safely and comfortably. The college also provided a health center with laid down first aid infrastructures to address the students’ basic needs. Students interested in sports and games shall find impressive infrastructure facilities for cricket, foot ball, volley ball, basket ball and tennis, MLVTEC also comprises a well-equipped gym for physical training. The emphasizing of a strong IT structure is salient: Internet access is provided for all students and faculty members twenty-four/seven. Besides, it owns a canteen, auditorium, and parking place for the college’s daily use by the entire community members.
Currently, MLVTEC has a total of 8 courses taught at three levels of degrees and mainly covering undergraduate and postgraduate engineering. Full-time B.Tech programmes are offered in 6 disciplines of technology, M.Tech in One programme, alongside Ph.D programme in Textiles. The total approved intake for the undergraduate programmes is 340 seats and the distribution is as follows; B.Tech Textile Technology 120, B.Tech fashion technology 80, B.Tech Electronics & Communication engineering 60, B.Tech Mechanical engineering 40, B.Tech Computer Science & Engineering 20 and B.Tech Civil engineering 20. The college also provides choices in areas that are new in the market, for example the Internet of Things to meet the market needs.
The admission to the undergraduate courses in MLVTEC essentially involves standard test known as the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Main). The college also being a participant in the Rajasthan Engineering Admission Process (REAP) for admissions to B.Tech. For those candidates who have not appear in JEE-Main, direct admissions are billeted at college level as per REAP or as per direction of Government of Rajasthan from time to time. At postgraduate level, admission is based on scores of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). The Doctoral Admission Test manages the admission of students on the Ph.D. programme.

The college is good in terms of infrastructure. They have all the necessary equipment and facilities. The library is quite big and have all the necessary books. It have a big football ground and a volleyball ground.
The infrastructure of college is not so good as the campus is old fashioned and the labs are old which have old instruments which do not work properly. The college have a huge football ground and a volleyball ground.
