Modern Engineering and Management Studies (MEMS) college, affiliated to BPUT, Odisha was established in the year 2008 and is situated at Balasore. Established in a spread of 12 acres of land, MEMS has been a pioneer in shaping technical education for more than a decade. All India Council for technical Education (AICTE) has approved the institute which explains its focus on the provision of quality education to consumers. Enrolling 1,094 students and having 53 faculty members, MEMS has delivered a blend of engineering and management education. The college offers 7 programs in two courses, regarding Engineering and Management streams.

At its disposal MEMS has fine-tuned facilities that enrich the learning process of its students. The campus has modern laboratories for all the departments such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Technology, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering etc. These labs are important for the practical that is needed in technical colleges. Proper college library: this is one of the colleges equipped with a well-stocked library, with over 21000 pieces of information, which can be in technical form of books, referral books and digital form. With registration, students can view e-journals and use the 10 computer systems with internet connection found in the library. For accommodation the Sacred Heart of Mary Girls/Boys Hostel is available within the campus and outside the campus for both boys and girls. These hostels are adequate accommodation facilities for students accompanied with Wi-Fi Network and Health facilities.

The institute currently has in total 6 programmes that includes 5 B.Tech courses and 1 MBA course. All programmes are classified as full-time, designed to prepare students for an all round education in their areas of specialisation. The B.Tech programmes include Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering. Every one of these engineering programs has an approved strength of sixty students while for Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering the strength data is missing. The MBA also has an approved intake capacity of 60 students. Thus, announced that MEMS, has the capacity of enroling 360 students across the various programs it offers in one year.

It is general that MEMS does not disclose the details on how students are admitted to the university and various programs offered but it is worth appreciating that this university admits students to various programmes in an orderly manner. The institute may take into consideration the performance in the qualifying examinations and may have end term examinations or use scores from the national level engineering entrance examination for B.Tech. MEMS has always worked towards offering a comprehensive learning process. To enhance development of the students there are several extra curriculum facilities in the college. A mini sport complex is available, joined closely to sport buildings, including extensive sandbox – a playground for hind sport academies and champions; area for cricket, football, volleyball, other sports, etc. Indoor sporting equipment and installations are; a squash court, badminton court, table tennis, and chess. Good news to fitness freaks, there exists a highly functional gym and of course a swimming pool. The college also has a cafeteria that prepares different types of food as an answer to the school’s diverse population’s diverse diets.

Saudi Arabia’s MEMS has air-conditioned halls for lectures as well as integration of advanced audiovisual gadgetry for academic activities. To enhance its communications, the campus uses Wi-Fi, through which students can retrieve their study materials whenever they are within the compound. On the transportation facilities for the convenience of students and staffs, the college possesses ten buses own transport facilities reaching the college from different related places like Balasore, Bhadrak, Soro etc. Also on the campus there is a branch of the State Bank of India which means that there are ATM facilities available for Banking services for those within the school.
