Mother College of Nursing, Thrissur came into existence in 2004 which is an affiliated college of Mother Institute of Health Sciences, affiliated to Kerala University of Healthcare Sciences, Thrissur situated in Pullazhi, Ollari, Thrissur, Kerala. As a renowned nursing institution of India the college is approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and is committed to offer quality education in health care/professions. This college is a small institution located on a 5-acre land and serves a protective environment for student nurses. Feasibility: On an overall enrolment basis of 201 students and with having 20 members in its faculty, Mother College of Nursing facilitates individual focus and direction. At present, the institute has one focused graduate nursing programme with education opportunities at undergraduate degree level.

It houses various facilities within the college that would avail enhance the Learning experiences and General wellbeing of the students. A Suitably equipped library performs as an information center containing relevant nursing literature and research documents. Another facility evident in this campus is; Well equipped laboratories perfected for cutting edge nursing practices. The hostels available are mainly for the boys though there is a girl’s hostel for the female students that will make them comfortable and secure. 

In terms of health, the college has a health centre for first aid services for every learner that is a constituent of the college. Sports facilities and a gym intended for fostering of physical fitness and recreation are open for use by all students. There is also an events and seminar facilities including an auditorium to ensure that there is a very active learning environment on campus. There are amenities such as the cafeteria to provide for student and staff Janitals, and Information Technology that connects the student to the latest in nursing education.

At present, Mother College of Nursing teaches one courses on nursing education. The course Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing) is a four year full- time course with an admitted intake capacity of fifty students. Undergraduate course: This powering programme provide sound knowledge regarding nursing sciences and enables the students to work in healthcare. The total number of students in the two programs is 54, implying that the college continues to offer quality education for the in take is restricted to balance the class size.

The steps of admission in Mother College of Nursing are aimed at the enrollment of committed and competent to manage students for the course of nursing. In the case of the B.Sc Nursing course, the college looks into the pass percentage and standard obtained by the student in 10+2, preferably in the science stream, but more emphasis is placed on Biology.
