Muslim Association College of Arts and Science Thiruvananthapuram, came in to existence in the year 2013 and situated at Panavoor, Nedumangad, Kerala. This affiliated college provides various faculties of arts, science, and commerce in undergraduate degree programme. The college takes a total of 577 students and has a faculty of 36 to ensure that aspiring scholars receive a favourable learning environment. Commitment in offering quality education is reflected in the fact that the institution offers six degree programmes, offered full time in 4 specialisation areas; Computer Science, Business Administration, Economics and Commerce.
Muslim Association College of Arts and Science has invested in a variety of modern physical assets aimed at improving the learning process for the learners. Central to a school’s academic resources is the library which has books in its collection exceeding 7,700 with reference books, 850, and encyclopedias, 12 sets. Students can read 23 national and international journals, which ensures the cult of demanding and diverse reading among students. This has been complemented with an IT structure including a computer laboratory with 50 sets to ensure students update their knowledge on IT. The college also provides sport amenities and a large hall for students’ activities, performances and seminars, etc. There is also an active canteen section also where the students participate in healthy debates and discussions.
Muslim Association College of Arts and Science currently has a total of eight Courses and all the courses offered are full time. The course in the field includes B.Sc Computer Science, BBA, BA Economics, B.Com Cooperation, B.Com Computer Applications, and BA Economics and Sociology and M.Com. These programmes are planned that they can meet all academic needs and career goals of learners. Though the number of seats for each course has not been determined, the total number of students, in fact, offer a broad carrying capacity for each course, in total, 577.
The admission process of Muslim Association College of Arts and Science is simplified in order to make it easier for students to grasp. To the best of my knowledge, it also became apparent that the institution does not perform any general entrance examinations for admission into any of their programmes, therefore inferring that, the admission process may follow courses or tests in certain qualifying examination set down by either the college or the affiliated University.
In perspective, Muslim Association College of Arts and Science will continue to cater the needs of the students in Thiruvananthapuram by providing them quality Arts, Science and Commerce education with all requisite modern infrastructures, huge variety of courses offered and relevancies of the education imparted to the society. As the college in its progressive journey ahead, it has to remain focused on their education and training along with the added task of designing the fate chart of its students along with its contribution for the development of the educational system all over kerala.
