Namrup College was founded in the year 1973 at Namrup, Assam, and is a constituent college. It has a co-educational institution that offers varied undergraduate course structures across arts and science streams. The campus sprawls over 13 acres with 479 students, and the sex ratio is 59% females to 41% males. The strength of the faculty is 38, and the institution has a very favourable student-to-teacher ratio, which provides quality education. 

The Namrup College aims at providing a very conducive learning environment with various facilities provided for the growth of students in their academic as well as personal lives. Separate hostel accommodations for boys and girls ensure comfortable living for out-station students. A well-equipped gymnasium is provided for those interested in keeping physically fit. The college library is equipped with about 12,000 volumes and subscribes to more than 14 journals and magazines. This acts as a great resource for both the students and the faculty. There are facilities for both indoor and outdoor sports with a playground to play cricket, football, and athletics. 

Namrup College offers a total of 15 undergraduate courses across 4 degree programmes. All courses are regular full-time courses that aim to deliver advanced knowledge in sundry subjects. The prime concern of the college rests on BA and B.Sc programmes, where each stream has different majors. 

The admission process in the institute is mostly merit-based. Prospectus-cum-Application Forms are available, against which prospective students will have to apply, and the selection would be made in accordance with the academic performance in the qualifying examinations. The college follows a very transparent policy of admissions, therefore, the college assures equal opportunities for all the eligible candidates.
