Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Memorial Government College, Hamirpur (NSCBMGC) is one of the renowned institutions and is now offering undergraduate and postgraduate programs in different disciplines. Most of the programs offered in this college are through merit-based admission for all courses, while different specific procedures exist for other programs. The admission cycle is opened post the announcement of results for 10+2. It normally occurs around May and June for the academic year that starts every August-September. For undergraduates, admissions are mostly merit-based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination (10+2). 

Postgraduate courses of study entail entrance tests to be conducted either by the college or the university. Basic eligibility for entry into undergraduate programs is passing grades in the 10+2 standard from a recognized board. For most of the courses, an aggregate of 50% marks in qualifying examination is required. Most applicants at the postgraduate level must prove that they have an under-graduate degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university.

Application Process

The application process for NSCBMGC varies according to the program:

2. Choose the course of your choice and complete the application form carefully, providing the right personal and academic details.

3. Follow this by uploading the required documents:

• Passport size photograph
• 10th and 12th mark sheets
• Character certificate
• Category certificate (if applicable)
• Domicile certificate (state quota only)

4. Apply online for the application fee.

5. Register with the necessary entrance examinations for the courses that require such tests for admission (e.g. BCA, PGDCA, and PG).

6. Counseling sessions for students will commence after the publication of examination results or merit lists.

7. Original documents are verified during counseling sessions, along with the payment of admission fees by which a candidate secures a seat.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Sc: Admission in B.Sc. programs is done on the basis of merit in 10 + 2 qualifications. The college offers different specializations approved with a sanctioned intake of 140.

B.Com: Merit-based admission is also applied in the B.Com program, with availability of 140 seats.

BA: Different programs are offered as BA-English, Music, Sanskrit, Journalism and Mass Communication, Public Administration, Tour and Travels, Education, Geography, Physical Education, Economics, Sociology, History, Political Science, and Hindi. Each program has an approved intake of 80 seats and admissions are based on merit at 10+2 level.

BBA: Admissions are based on the total merit of the students. In case of insufficient students qualifying through competitive exams, the College retains the right to fill vacant seats on the basis of past examination performance. There are 60 seats available.

B.Voc: B.Voc programs in Hospitality and Tourism and Retail Management are offered by the college. Admission will be totally on merit on the qualifying examination (10 + 2), having 40 seats for each program.

BCA: Admission is through an entrance examination test. The selection process comprises a written test of 70 marks and academic weightage of 30 marks. There are 40 seats each.

PGDCA: It is an admissions based on the college’s entrance examination, which has 30 seats under it.

M.Sc.: Programs are provided in the disciplines of Zoology, Botany, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. Admissions are strictly based on the marks obtained in the Entrance Test conducted by the university.

MA. The programs are of Economics, Hindi, and English. The procedure of admission for these programs is similar to that of the M.Sc. program based on performance in the university entrance test.

M.Com.: Admissions are based on the entrance examination of the university.
