Nowgong Law College, Nagaon: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Nowgong Law College was established at 1970, is a well-known legal education college which situated in Nagaon, Assam. This college for both boys and girls is recognized by the Gauhati University and recognized with the Bar councils of India so it also maintains a quality standard. The college is providing three specific law courses through which it provided two degree programmes for the students who want to join the legal profession. Nowgong Law College, for instance takes a total of 368 students at a time; the institution has a faculty of 16. The college makes a clear declaration of a legal education by offering the following programmes: The integrated B.A., LL.B. programme and the B.A., LL.B. programme. 

Nowgong Law College has several amenities to complement the learning needs of it students. It also has Wi-Fi campus facility by which internet and networking services are available all over the campus for students and members. A well stocked library section is a considerable asset in legal research and learning. The college boasts of computer laboratory that operates on broadband internet connections in compliance with today’s development in the legal sector. For skill based training, a mock court setup is there specifically designed to get hand on experience of courtroom. It also has a well-bailistically maintained canteen and the cafeteria with Indian and Chinese foods that are affordable to students. Population and Weight Management, Health Fitness Management, Performance Enhancement, Health and Fitness Aerobics, Sports facilities and an Auditorium for Events and Seminars are some of the considerations for well balanced campus. 

The college offers six full-time courses in law: BA LLB, LLB, and LLB (Hons). The integrated BA LLB programme offered is a five year course with an intake capacity of 60 students and the traditional LLB is a three year programme with a capacity of 60 students. Another three-year programme is the LLB (Hons) The intake capacity of this course is unknown however. As previously stated, all of the courses across the curriculum were specifically developed in order to give the student broad legal training appropriate for different positions within the legal system. The total number of students offered at college level is 368, this is in respecting the desire of the college to ensure it intakes a reasonable number of students to enable it maintain student /faculty ratio that is appropriate for teaching. 

The admission process in Nowgong Law College method is fully merit-based, it accord with the academic achievements of the students and their abilities to study law. The college conducts written admission tests and interview for the students who seek admission in the first year of the above said course. This particular method of selection guarantees only the deserving and most suited students to pursue the programme to the highest level. It also has a Training and Placement Cell that helps students work on their employment seeking skills and help them get placement of their choice. However, the specific details concerning scholarships are yet to be provided; the college must have several means through which it supports the needy students. Established to give emphasis to legal education, Nowgong Law College maintains to equip the students and supports the future legal fraternity of Assam and other parts of the country with all the requisites facilities.
