OMM Muruga Polytechnic College was started in the year 2014 at Pottaveli, Virupatchi, Kurinjipadi, Cuddalore District of Tamil Nadu as an affiliated college. an AICTE recognized polytechnic, currently the institution offers three diploma courses in engineering disciplines. Being a self-financing college the enrolment of students admitted in different programs is 301 and faculty members 56 which keep a healthy student–teacher ratio in the college. The institution aims at offering quality technical education particularly in the area of civil, mechanical and electrical & electronics engineering disciplines there is a shortage of technicians.

The college strives at ensuring that student has favorable conditions to facilitate learning. The OMM Muruga Polytechnic College has provided facilities for bothcompus and co-curricular activities for the students. These are; a well stocked up library to and through which students and faculty gain access to knowledge. The college also Catchment area has modern I.T infrastructure,thus preparing the learners with the newest technology. In its attempt towards a more balanced development, the institution makes availabe sports and games which help in building physical health, as well as team work among the students. OMM Muruga Polytechnic College has a total of three full time diploma courses which are all regular courses. An overall approved intake of 300 seats for the three specializations are offered in the college. These programs are planned to be run for three years, and enable graduates to gain their first degree in engineering disciplines of their choice. The offered diploma courses are aimed at the smooth response to industry demands and provide students with some practical skills needed to implement in the future work.
