Pavendar Bharathidasan Institute of Information Technology, Tiruchirappalli: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Pavendar Bharathidasan Institute of Information Technology (PBIIT) was started in 2009 and has been catering the educational needs of students in Tiruchirappalli of Tamil Nadu. This co-educational institute is an affiliated college that has various engineering programmes in development to admit the ever demanding students. With an overall student strength of 29 and a faculty strength of 97, PBIIT offers the benefit of a small institution. Five B.Tech programmes are taught at the institute for a period of four years and they are in the following fields; Computer Science and Engineering Electrical and Electronics Engineering ,Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering.

Pavendar Bharathidasan Institute of Information Technology currently has a number of facilities aimed at improving the student experience or to facilitate study. The institute also has a good facility of library to help the students to make the best use of their educational advantages. Modern laboratories are available to each department to perform practical lessons and skilled application of theories. In the college, extra-curricula activities, and events, the college hosts an auditorium to accommodate seminar and cultural activities. Having a cafeteria on the compound means that the students are always provided with meals, while a health facility which contains a first aid section is available to see to it that students are healthy. Divided into six ‘clusters’, the site also features accommodation, a clinic, a gymnasium and other sports amenities. For those who want to live in, the Polytechnic has separate hostel accommodation for both the male and female students especially for students from other towns.

The programme package of the institute revolves around its B.Tech programmes and all of its programmes are regular. At the moment PBIIT has five engineering courses each of which has an approved student capacity of 60 students per year. This means that 300 seats are available in total for all the B.Tech programmes offer at the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Coimbatore. The courses are intended to equip the students with the academic background required to practice engineering in areas of specialisation within technology industry.

The admission requirements of PBIIT are not complicated so that any interested candidate can easily get into the school. As for the entrance examinations, no particular tests are described, however, it is still valid to state that the majority of engineering colleges throughout Tamil Nadu accept scores achieved on state or nationwide tests in engineering.
