It is recommended that the social norms for the population demography of PES College of Pharmacy, Bangalore (PESCP) be understood fully on the context of population demographic for the city of Bangalore in the Indian state of Karnataka in which it was founded in 1982. Being a co-educational affiliated college situated in a 2.5 acres area, the college is accredited assented by NAAC and PCI approved pharmacy college. PESCP is known to be an institution of higher education with student enrolment of 544 and 36 faculty members Presently, PESCP offers 14 courses in the 5 degree programmes available in various disciplines of pharmaceutical science. On the sex distribution, the college earns high scores with male students exiting at 54% while females are at 46%.

PES College of Pharmacy, has got the following modern facilities to enhance the Institute’s academic activity. The library hall which is well-equipped has its area of more than 50000 sq. m which gives students an opportunity to use a great amount of literature. Modern equipped laboratories provide real conditions for both theoretical and practical experiments. For students’ safety and comfort, PESCP has provided hostels namely boys hostels and girls hostels for a single occupancy or sharing basis. The college has given much importance to student health by having a health centre with first aid facilities. Health of the students is a priority and through a well-maintained Gym and variety of sports facilities such as cricket, basketball etc students are encouraged to fitness levels under trained coaches. The AC provisioned auditorium acts as the conference hall for academic seminars, academic fests like Aatmatrisha, Manage, Aspiration etc. Some of the other facilities available include a cafeterian, transport, car space, and limited accommodation facilities for faculty and special guests and family members respectively.

Here at PESCP, we are able to provide a full plethora of pharmaceutical education programmes. At present, the institute offers fourteen courses including full time undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral programmes. The largest course offered in the campus is the Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma), which admitting 100 students per batch. Other important courses are the M.Pharma prog for which there are 9-15 seats in each disciplines namely Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Analysis, and Pharmacognosy. The college also runs a 6 year Pharm.D programme with 30 seats and 60 seats in the 2 year D.Pharma programme. In further years, it offers PhD programmes in different specialties of pharmaceutical sciences. Altogether, the institute offers courses to 544 students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The admission process at PES College of Pharmacy dictates that it has to admit the most appropriate candidates in the field of pharmacy. For the courses such as B.Pharma admissions the criterion is the marks obtained by the candidate in entrance tests along with the marks secured in 12th exam. The M.Pharma programmes take into account the candidate’s B.Pharma performance and may offer an added prospect of GPAT examination to pass. For Ph.D. admissions the college prefers candidates who have written competitive examinations like GRE, GATE, CAT, UGC-NET or CSIR-NET. The Pharm.D programme since one of the professional doctorate has its own admission requirement that focuses on candidate previous performance in particular courses.

Degree-wise Admission Procedure

D.Pharma: Diploma in Pharmacy is being offered by PESCP for an intake of 60 seats. Academic performance in the qualifying examination is the criterion for the admission procedure for this two-year program.

Pharm.D: The college offers a Pharm.D. for entry into 30 seats duration of 6 years. The total course fee comes around Rs 3 60,000. The admission process is also based on previous academic performance in relevant courses.

M.Pharma: For M.Pharma, PESCP offers four different specializations:

  2. Pharmacology (12 seats)

  3. Pharmaceutical Analysis (12 seats)
