The institute, Popatlal Dhanjibhai Malaviya Commerce College, Rajkot, was established in the year 1957 in Gujarat, India. As an affiliated college, it has been facilitating commerce education for more than sixty years. It occupies 11 acres. With a total of 2,201 students, it has 13 members in the faculty. The institute provides a co-educational setup and is open to all the students from various streams in order to cater to their desire of studying commerce.

The bachelor's degree under the commerce stream, known as B.Com, is an honours three-year full-time course.
