PPG College of Education Coimbatore was instituted in 2005 which is one of the upcoming famous college to build the future of education. Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya college of Teacher Education for Men; the college was established in 1983 at Sivananda Colony, Saravanampatti, Coimbatore; This is a co-educational institution which is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University and recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education under section 14 of the NCTE Act, 1993. 

The college provides two specific degrees in education and admits students in total of 164. PPG College of Education thus has a faculty of 20 highly qualified and experienced educators who assure a conducive student teacher ratio and good teaching. This coupled with the institutions strong/ firm foundation of educational excellence is illustrated in its presented and offered diverse variety of courses as well as sophisticated infrastructures.

Tertiary education institution has developed various facilities that help foster learning of the institution’s learners. In the main teaching facilities learning resources include a computerized library, that has the capacity to seat 70 students at a time. Having a collection of 6707 books the library is fully computerized with newspaper, magazines, journals and books for reference along with books for TNPSC, TRB & UGC NET. As for the purpose of learning and practice, PPG College of Education facilitates learning facilities such as, Science Lab, Computer Lab, Psychology Lab, Educational Lab, and Language Lab. 

On the same note of health, the institution has fitted it with facilities in the form of play fields, gymnasium as well as a health center that has a first aid section. A spacious hall with accommodation capacity of over two hundred students is used for holding most of the institutional activities. The college also provides substantial accommodation for outstation students and so the hostels are separate for boys and girls respectively.

PPG College of Education has two regular courses in the education field for a student to undertake. The B.Ed program is of 100 seats and M.Ed program of 50 seats. Each of the programs is ideal to be pursued over a period of two years and covers all aspects of educational theory and practice. Concentrating its programs in these areas, provides an opportunity to give more focus and hands-on training in the field of education to produce graduates who shall effectively practice their profession as teachers and educational leaders.

Rules and regulation of PPG College of Education stipulates that the admission process of the college is merit based following the rules framed by state government UT administration and the affiliated university. In the context of B.Ed, the programme offered, admission is made on the basis of marks secured in the qualifying examination cum entrance test. Likewise the M. Ed programs follow a merit system of admission and the performance in the qualifying examination, entrance test or any other mode of selection as may be spelt out by the concerned authority. 

The college also has good relationships between the alumni meaning there is always interaction between students of the past and the present.
