Pragati College, Raipur, was established in the year 2000. It is situated in Choubey Colony, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The institute is approved by NCTE and offers many amenities with a variety of 11 courses of various streams. Spread over 1 acres, Pragati College accounts for a student enrolment of 1,035 in total and has a faculty strength of 34. This co-educational institution offers centres mainly for the undergraduate and graduate students. Mainly focusing on the courses in Commerce, Education, Computer Science, and Journalism, Pragati College assures quality education towards aspiring professionals in the region. 

The college offers many amenities which are intended to improve the learning experience of its students. Courses at Pragati College are from Commerce—B.Com, M.Com; Computer Applications—BCA, PGDCA; Education—B.Ed, M.Ed, D.Ed; Science—B.Sc Computer Science; Business Administration—BBA; Journalism—BJMC, PGDJ.

The admission process at Pragati College is conducted under the explicit instructions and guidelines of the Higher Education Department of the Government of Chhattisgarh. The undergraduate courses, such as B.Com, BBA, BCA, and B.Sc Computer Science, are admitted in regular course pattern annually. For the B.Ed course, admissions are done centrally through counseling by CG VYAPAM, Raipur, through a Common Entrance Examination. For D.Ed course admission is done on the basis of a state-level Pre-D.Ed entrance examination. Admission to postgraduate courses in M.Com. and M.Ed. is on the basis of merit, based on the marks secured at the respective bachelor's degree levels. The college follows the rules and regulations of the State Government in regard to reservations at the time of admission.
