Pragati Mahavidyalaya is a recognized private college for women which was founded in 1973 at the heart of Hyderabad in Telangana state. It is affiliated college approved by AICTE with a rich tradition of socializing students for future Nearly half a century old college. Having a small area of 1.14 acres, Pragati Mahavidyalaya has a great opportunity to help students succeed by providing courses in various fields. The institute is a technical institute with total strength of 1,777 students and faculty strength of 6 members which makes an environment of learning and success. The college delivers 7 programmes in 6 study areas and focuses on the fields of Business Administration, Commerce, Computer Applications and Sciences.

The institute has a range of facilities that would improve the learning process for its learners . The library which is an essential element of academic facilities, has separate reading section for boys and girls containing 12 newspapers, 15 national and international magazine subscriptions and various magazines. To the individuals with an interest in participating in physical activities, the college avails sports facilities that cushion the learners between their academic and sweat. In view of these developments, Pragati Mahavidyalaya has also put in excellent Information & Technology facility, so that students can get the latest gadgets and systems developed. 

The last but the most important building located on the territory of the campus is the Muktamani Greens Auditorium which is big enough and designed for 400 people. This large hall is used to accommodate seminars at the state and national level, college and university fests, and faculty development programmes. Also there are well equipped laboratory for doing practical viva voce, and there is also provision of guest house for the faculty members and relative of the students.

This Jawahar Navodaya School provides pragmatically every possible full-time course needs of the students in different fields of study. To date, at institute offers 7 courses across the academic levels including undergraduate and postgraduate. Out of these, the BBA has the largest number of admissions slot available to it, with 180, which informs its high demand. The MBA and M.Com programmes have intakes of 60 and 48 respectively; these two programmes provide higher learning to those intending to pursue a business career. The college also impart Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) programs and Master of Computer Applications (MCA) though the intakes for such courses are unknown, The specific degree programs include a B.Sc Mathematics, Physics and Electronics and an MCA. This diverse academic offering says that the students have so many options available to them in order to chuse their areas of interest.
