Presidency College Motbung was started in 1973 at Motbung, a co-educational institution situated at Kangpokpi District Manipur. As an affiliated college NAAC accredited this college comprise of variety of under graduate courses. Located in a complex of 14.118 acres the college includes 1668 in total enrolment with a slight male dominance and female dominance respectively 51/ 49. The institution employs 36 dedicated Teaching faculty The Teaching faculty offers 14 Courses under 4 Degrees in the field of Arts and Science.

Presidency College Motbung is also in place to foster education which implies that it provides the various needs of the students in terms of facility to produce better students academically as well as personally. They all have well equipped library having reading room, text and reference books, National digital library gateway through N-LIST and INFLIBNET. The students should be able to make use of the available Wi-Fi in the campus to improve their learning. The college offers a combination of Pass, major Pass and honors degrees in arts (BA) in Mathematics ,and science (B.Sc) Economics hons etc. divisions. Unfortunately, the number of intakes for certain programmes is not clear, but the total enrolment of 1,668 students suggest a good student capacity of all programmes offered. It is for this reason that the college offers many programmes that focuses on education in its many forms cutting across various disciplines.

The intake of students in Presidency College Motbung is based on merit and admission policy without discriminating the student. The college has also other political leaders such as Pu. From the present book, a few politicians are worthy of mention these are Ngamthang Haokip, an assembly MLA and H. Dingo Singh also an assembly MLA.
