Prof. Dhanapalan College of Arts and Science, the leading Arts and Science college for women was started in the year 1991 located at Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Located on the vast 5 acre land, the college boasts of a broad-based education portfolio in offering a variety of undergraduate and post graduate programmes cut across numerous fields. This school currently constitutes a total of 1631 students and 47 members of the faculty, which ensures that the school offers students an appropriate environment in which they can achieve the goals of education. The college being an affiliated college offers 17 courses in seven degree programmes with specialisation in Commerce, Management, Computer Science, Life Science and Humanities.

Prof. Dhanapalan College of Arts and Science has leased several and newly equipped facilities and about these facilities, the following can be said: A large and most modern central library possesses over one lakh of books and thousand reference books with National and International journals, periodicals, newspapers and magazines etc. Sophisticated laboratories for different disciplines include Genetics, Biotechnology, Microbiology and Computer Science laboratories. The institution also comprises a modern day facility equipped with a 500-seater auditorium well suitable for cultural shows, seminars, and symposiums. To facilitate the student transportation the college has bus facilities with route from different portions of Chennai to the college premises which also included safety conveyances.

Prof. Dhanapalan College of Arts and Science has a total of seventeen courses where these are the under graduate and the post graduate courses. These course comprises of 12 full time undergraduate and 5 full time postgraduate programmes. The courses provided are BA programms, B.Sc programmes, B.Com, and M.Sc programmes. Though it has not quantified the student capacity per programme, the current cumulative enrollment in all academic programmes is 1,631 students. This College offers various courses to encompass all conventional and modern growth areas to suit the preferences of learners.
