Prof. Dr. N.D. Patil Mahavidyalaya, Kolhapur, was set up in 1992 as an affiliated college situated in Malakapur-Perid, Shahuwadi Taluka, Kolhapur District, Maharashtra State. The institute is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, NAAC, and offers a wide area of undergrad as well as master degree courses. The college occupies a large plot of 7.68 acres and has a total complement of 915 students, with slightly more male students (50%) than female (50%) students. The institute currently uses 28 faculty members and, currently, four degree programmes in the Arts, Commerce, and Science faculties. 

The college has always aspired to give the students value-added education where facilities in college include all that is modern for the students. The library also discharges a knowledge delivery agency by providing a vibrant place for learning and research activities. Academic facilities developed for learning and practices are available for all students to enable them to acquire practical skills in their areas of specialization. In addition to that, the campus has putters, courts for sports and games, a gymnasium, and an auditorium, which is used for extracurricular activities and other events. To enhance the welfare of the students, the school possesses the medical facilities of a medical centre with a first aid section. The college also demonstrates technology integration with the best IT provision to support teaching and learning. Also, the male and female students are offered different hostel facilities to ensure that students living in the hostels live comfortably. 

Prof. Dr. N.D. Patil Mahavidyalaya provides only four programmes, all of which are on full-time basis. At the present time, the institute offers 3 undergraduate and 1 postgraduate programme. On a total, the college’s student intake is at 859, and the student enrolment is at 915. In the most recent completed academic year, the college had 905 students enrolled in undergraduate programmes and 10 in postgraduate programs.
