The B.Ed. College set up by the Progressive Education Society in 2006 is popular teacher education college in Pune, Maharashtra. This is affiliated college located near Jangali Maharaj Road, Shivajinagar, approved by National Counsil for Teacher Education (NCTE) to provide quality education in this field of teaching. The college for education is a compact 1 acre with co-educational facility to nurture aspiring teachers. It currently has 167 students and 9 faculties which give it a student-faculty ratio that ensures students are accorded personal attention and make effective progress. 

The college has numerous provisions meant to support the improvement of the students’ educational process. The knowledge centre of the institution is well stocked to meet the requirement of books and reference sections, are housed subject wise. There is fiction, non-fiction, newspapers/magazines, reference section, c.d./video games, online public access catalog (OPAC) facility, Internet browsing & printing, photocopying. Besides that students of Modern College of Arts Science and Commerce, Pune also derive the advantages of the DELNET and Inflibnet N-List facilities. For the health and physical fitness of the students the college offers several amenities such as; playgrounds for outdoor games plus provisions for indoor games. There is a modern gym facility provided on the campus and students have an additional of the college sports complex of the parent trust. The psychology laboratory is equipped with equipment for educational psychology demonstrations, to support the theoretical part of the B.Ed. course. Modern teaching aids include audio visuals such as LCD projectors, Televisions, cameras and overhead projectors.

The B.Ed. College run by the Progressive Education Society primarily performs the function of a teacher training college and it has only one full time course on offer, namely, the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) course. This two year degree program has an approved intake capacity of one hundred students preparing to carve a career in teaching. The B.Ed. course enables the students to develop teaching skills and knowledge, theoretical concepts along with valuable experience in teaching practice. At the moment, only one degree program is offered by the college, however, a well-developed curriculum and an emphasis on practical experience preparation make graduates ready for the education industry.

Admission policy of the Progressive Education Society’s B.Ed. College follows the admission norms of the state government, the university and such other educational policies and guidelines. These are mostly merit based with regards to the marks in the qualifying examination and or in the entrance test.
