PT Om Prakash Sharma Mahavidyalaya, Kanpur, was established in the year 2003. It is an affiliated college situated in Rura, Kanpur Dehat, Uttar Pradesh. The campus sprawls over 5.16 acres and is approved by NCTE. The institution offers four undergraduate programmes with a total student strength of 1,573 and a faculty strength of 36 members. The courses it offers are oriented towards education and arts and science streams, such as B.A., B.Sc., B.Ed., and D.El.Ed., thereby serving diverse academic interests. 

PT Om Prakash Sharma Mahavidyalaya, has many facilities that help enrich the learning experience of students here. There is a well-stacked library, which acts as the knowledge hub, providing for all academic purposes. PT Om Prakash Sharma Mahavidyalaya has four full-time courses running across various disciplines, of which B.A and B.Sc. are three-year courses while the B.Ed. is two years. D.El.Ed. is a two-year course with an approved intake of 50 seats. 

The admission process to PT Om Prakash Sharma Mahavidyalaya is different based on courses. Admissions to the B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. courses are made strictly on a meritorious basis, taking into consideration the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination, as per the policies framed by the state government, U.T. Administration, and the affiliated university.
