Rajalakshmi College of Education, Vagaikulam: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Rajalakshmi College of Education is a co-education college which was started in the year of 2008 and located in Vagaikulam, Thoothukudi district, Tamil Nadu. Each of these affiliated colleges is approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and assessed, scored, or rated by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Located in a large 10.92-acre area, Annex college is small but dedicated to teacher education and has only one B Ed programme. Despite a student strength of 129 and faculty of 15, the institute has absolutely reasonable student-teacher ratio, which makes it possible to give attention to every student as well as provide quality education.

Several services are offered at the college in order to support the academic achievement of its learners and their personal growth. The campus has ample facilities of hostels for boys and girls separately, having all the modern facilities of dwelling. These hostels provide vegetarian and non-vegetarian food available through the respective cafeterias, Which provide entertainment like TV, etc. Independent areas for playing games like table tennis, chess, carom, etc. It has exhaustively arranged for student care with residents in charge of discipline and management as well as the running of standby generators for electricity supply at any one time . In respect of health emergencies, there is a car service round-the-clock. It also has a health centre with first aid equipment for treatment of the students in cases of emergency.

At Rajalakshmi College of Education, there is only one full-time course, which is the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). This institution offers this course for two years and has an approved capacity to take one hundred students, thus showing the institute’s stand on quality teacher training education. The B.Ed. course is understood in the perspective of the overall goals and objectives of the course to prepare the students to achieve success in the field of education and to develop them as effective educators.

The Rajalakshmi College of Education follows the admission policy laid down by the state government, Union Territory administration, and the university to which it wishes to affiliate itself. The admission policy involves an examination of mark’s attained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The college may also select other procedures of learning admission based on the current policies. This approach is to ensure that all deserving candidates are given a chance to achieve their teaching dreams.

Academic resources and other activities which go beyond the class are of great importance to the college. This library is equipped with modern technology; it has the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC), reprographic services, references, and internet services. Those who requires books could borrow books from a book bank facility that has been established for the students. It also supports sporting activities and offers all the requirements for different sporting events. To meet the impacts and demands of society, the college has also provided the best IT facilities; students are conversant with modern education technology.

Alumni association was started in 2010 with 300 members to uphold the Rajalakshmi College of Education as our own institution. This association also has the responsibility of liaising former and current students about program organizational events such as seminars, guest speaking, demonstrationsand placement. The college also has extra facilities, which include a canteen, a hall, and transport services, which make the learning environment favorable and fulfilling.
